The age bar which was set for appearing for the Combined Pre-Ayush Test (CPAT) 2017 has been removed by the UP government. Now, all those above the age of 25 years can apply for the same.

Then and now
Earlier, only candidates between 17 years and 25 years of age were eligible to apply and a relaxation of five years was given to those from Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes. Now, all those above the age of 25 years can apply for the same. The exam is conducted for admissions to ayurvedic, unani, and homoeopathy colleges in the state. On Tuesday, at a meeting of the advisory committee this decision was taken.
CPAT 2017 is scheduled to be held on October 4. This year, the University of Lucknow has been given the responsibility to conduct the CPAT-2017 by the state government.

UP domicile holders
As per an HT report, Prof Naveen Khare, the state coordinator for CPAT 2017, said that only those students who have a domicile in Uttar Pradesh will be given admission in government and aided colleges. Those who have passed their high school and intermediate examination both from UP, are not required to submit the certificate of domicile.Applicants, who have cleared either their high school or intermediate from UP, will have to provide the residence certificate issued by the appropriate authority for seeking admission in government and aided colleges.
As per the brochure, the certificate (1 Ka) will be required at the time of counselling.
Candidates from other states are eligible to take admission in self-financed and private colleges across Uttar Pradesh, Khare added. They will also have to provide the domicile certificate issued by the appropriate authority.
